3 & 4 Year Old Funding Applications
Parents can check whether they are eligible for a range of government childcare offers, including 30 hours and Tax-Free Childcare, via Childcare Choices at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk or the Childcare Calculator at www.gov.uk/childcare-calculator.
Parents will be able to apply for Tax-Free Childcare and the 30 hours funding through the digital childcare service via www.childcarechoice.gov.uk
Parents will not need to apply through the digital childcare service if they only want to claim the universal nursery education funding entitlement of 15 hours for three and four year olds.
Childcare Service Account - 30 hours and Tax-Free Childcare
At the end of the application process for the extended 30 hours NEF, parents will have a childcare service account. If parents are eligible for 30 hours, they will be given an 11 digit ‘eligibility code’ which you must provide to NOK.
Parents will be prompted every three months to reconfirm the details they entered on their application are still accurate. It is important that you do this, otherwise your funding will not be available and full charges will apply.

How many hours can I use at NOK?
All 3 & 4 year olds are able to access the universal funding entitlement of 15 hours free childcare per week for 38 weeks of the year, or stretched to 11.88 hours per week for 48 weeks of the year at NOK, capped at 6.5 hours per day. That's a total of 570 hours per year.
Eligible families are also entitled to the extended funding entitlement of an additional 15 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year, capped at 6.5 hours per day. That's a total of 1,140 hours per year for eligible families which can be stretched to 23.75 hours per week for 48 weeks of the year.
A charge for the additional hours outside of the funded hours, for snacks, lunch and enhanced resources (e.g. yoga, access to our green space and Forest School/Bushcraft sessions) is applied to your invoice.
How do the funded hours affect my fees?
We've tried to make it as clear as possible in our Fee Schedule on the fees page. Here, you can find details of fees including funding vs fees for non-funded sessions.

Can I use the funding at both settings?
Yes, the funding can be split between providers. The combined total of hours used should of course be no more than the hours available (i.e. either 570 hours universal entitlement, or 1,140 hours extended entitlement). You must complete a Parent Declaration form for each provider and you must declare the hours you are claiming at each setting.
